To support people across Sussex to stay well at this busy time and to make the right choices about the services available to them, the Sussex Health and Care Partnership have created this source of really helpful self-management information Help us help you this winter.

In addition to help and support for long-term conditions there is also self-management information on Covid-19 and Sussex Health and Care Partnership plan to upload information on waiting well, staying warm and winter fuel vouchers shortly.

Message to our patients – update on the COVID-19 booster programme

Across Sussex the NHS and its partners are working extremely hard to roll out the COVID-19 booster vaccination programme to our communities.

All adults are eligible from Monday 13 December, and you will be able to book via the National Booking System from Wednesday 15 December.

You can book your booster for 3 months from the date of second vaccine, and you can access the National Booking System to book the appointment from 2 months.

We are working at pace to increase the availability of appointments so that there are plenty of options for people on the National Booking System. Some local vaccination services may also contact patients directly.

New appointments are being added every day across our vaccination services. We have been offering more than 80,000 appointments a week and in the last two weeks we have increased the number of available appointments by more than 10,000 a week. Further availability will come online from Wednesday 15 December.

We will be working with all of our sites to take further steps to increase what they can offer again, including opening later and on more days.

All of these appointments will be added to the National Booking System and so we encourage everyone who is aged 18 and over, is yet to have their booster and who is approaching 3 months from your second vaccine to use the National Booking System to arrange your appointment when you are able to do so.

In terms of any planned appointments with The Station Practice there are no changes at the current time and everyone should attend your planned appointments as normal. If we need to make any changes, we will contact you directly.

From the 20th of December 2021, please allow 3 working days for your prescription to be processed and available for collection from the pharmacy.


For the month of December 2021, The Station Practice:

1011 patients face to face (not including our nurses or health care assistants)

Provided 3168 Telephone Consultations

Processed 8162 prescriptions

And sadly we experienced 520 DNAs (did not attend or no answer on the telephone)

The Station Practice is always working hard to provide excellent care to all of our patients.

The Station Practice is pleased to announce the installation of their telephone system on 12th November 2021. We are hoping this will improve our patient experience and access to the practice via telephone! Please could we ask all of our patients to continue wearing face masks when entering the practice to protect our most vulnerable and immunosuppressed patients who require a face to face GP appointment unless you are exempt. The NHS is now ready to deliver a vaccination programme for England so that those who need it most will be able to access vaccinations as soon as they are available. 

A prioritisation list has been produced in order for the vaccine to be delivered to groups who will need it first. The NHS will contact you when you are eligible to receive the vaccine and provide you with information about location and date. We will contact you when it’s the right time to come forward, so please don’t contact the NHS to seek a vaccine before then. 

Key messages for patients / the public

·         The vaccine will be given in order of priority to those at highest risk first. 

·         We will be in contact with you with information about where and when you will need to receive the vaccine.

·         Please act on your invite when it comes, and make sure you attend your appointments when you arrange them.

·         Please continue to abide by all the social distancing and hand hygiene guidance, which will still save lives.

It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

Engage E-Consultations

Request help from your practice easily online!

This is our new online consultation service

Patients are now able to use this service to contact the Practice about medical or administrative queries. The system is called Engage Consult and you can start using it by clicking here and completing your registration details. 

Any queries received via engage consult before 11.00am on a surgery working day will be dealt with and responded to on the same day.

Not all medical queries will require a GP appointment, however where an appointment is required a member of the Practice team will be in contact to arrange a phone call or face to face consultation. 

Please be advised that there is a limited number of queries that can be received by practice on a day. Please wait at least 24hours to receive a response from the surgery before you submit a repeat enquiry.

We hope this service will enable patients to get the help they require as quickly as possible.

Parking and Disabled Access

There is a Patron Only Car Park located at the front of Station Plaza Health Centre. Patients are entitled to 15 minutes of free parking.

Blue Badge holders must enter their full, correct vehicle registration into the terminal at the security reception desk on the ground floor and will then be entitled to free parking for the duration of their stay.

Parking Eye monitor the parking area and if you do not register your vehicle with security there is a risk of a £100 fine, the practice is unable to assist should you receive a fine.
