MMR call / recall
Measles Mumps and Rubella are highly infectious conditions that can easily spread between unvaccinated people. Getting vaccinated is important, as these conditions can also lead to serious problems including meningitis, hearing loss and problems during pregnancy. Two doses of the MMR vaccine provide the best protection against measles, mumps and rubella.
If you receive an invitation for an MMR vaccination from the national campaign that is currently being run, please book an appointment with one of our Practice Nurses by contacting the surgery after 2pm Monday – Friday on: 01424 464756.

Station Practice statement in response to the Daily Mail article:
A recent article published by the Daily Mail shared some data about our workforce which does not provide an accurate representation of how many people work at the Station Medical Practice. This information was taken from the national workforce reporting service, however we would like to reassure patients that the data taken does not reflect the true number of staff members working at the surgery due to the extraction process..
The Station Practice has a large team of healthcare professionals who provide care to patients, including two GP partners, four long-term locum doctors and two advanced nurse practitioners. We also employ 2 clinical admin GPs.
Our surgery team is also made up of other staff members who provide direct patient care, including a team of nurses, healthcare assistants and phlebotomists, a mental health specialist nurse, a first contact physiotherapists and a team of pharmacists/pharmacy technicians.
Our team is made up of both clinical and non-clinical staff who all contribute towards providing primary care services to our community.
Admin staff play a crucial role for GP surgeries and are often the first point of contact for patients. Our team of receptionists are highly-trained care navigators who make sure patients can access the right care, as quickly as possible, from the right person. Other admin staff include roles such as a practice manager, deputy practice manager, QOF manager, IT and reception manager, medical secretaries, a workflow team and care coordinators.
You can find out more about our practice team on our website: https://www.thestationpractice.co.uk/staff
Please note: The extraction process did not include all our regular locum doctors and nurse practitioners whom we use. Also we are currently still advertising for permanent salaried doctors and nurse practitioners.
